Brussels Biobank collects, stores, and manages human biological materials (such as blood and tissue) and associated data to enable high-quality scientific research. The samples originate from residual material following medical procedures or are prospectively collected with the patient’s consent. This is done in accordance with Belgian legislation (Law of 19 December 2008 and Royal Decree of 9 January 2018) and under the supervision of an ethics committee. Brussels Biobank makes samples available to accredited researchers from academic institutions and industry, subject to an approved application.
In this way, we contribute to the development of new diagnostics and therapies.
